Very Good Experience
I was looking for a necklace for my daughter's 20th birthday. I was
planning to spend under $150 and it had to be white gold, since she does
not wear yellow gold. I wanted something with diamonds or pearls (decided
this was more versatile than her birthstone, sapphire)....something pretty
and not cheap-looking.....something a young woman would be able to wear to
dressy, semi-dressy and hardly-dressy-at-all events. Okay, if you are
laughing that I expected to find this for under $150.....well, I did!! It
took hours of searching many Internet sites, but I finally found a 14K
white gold necklace with pearls and 3 tiny diamonds for $120 at
Diamonds.com (a 10% off coupon found at ebates.com brought the price down
to $107, plus they had free shipping for purchases over $99). I placed the
order on a Sunday to be delivered to my work address (someone must sign
for their shipments). Monday I got an e-mail letting me know the order had
shipped. It arrived on Wednesday to my location in Georgia. The return
address does NOT say Diamonds.com on it...no one would know this was
jewelry by looking at the shipping package. This was a concern for me
because it had to go through a company mailroom to get to me. My only
caveat is the I didn't see a way to link to order status directly by
logging in to the website...you need to enter the order number you got
when you placed the order. The order number is also sent to you in your
confirmation e-mail, so it was not a big deal but you need to have it
handy to check your shipment status. I entered the order number and could
easily track my package. The necklace is beautiful, ordering it was easy
and I am very happy with my experience with Diamonds.com.

My experience with
Diamond.com was nothing but positive also they have the lowest prices
for diamond earings. I'm no diamond expert, but it
seemed to me that I got a much higher quality diamond than I would have
gotten in any brick and mortar, for the price. I purchased my engagement
ring and wouldn't hesitate to buy the wedding band there also.
The only problem [if you can call it that] was a snaffew [sp?] with my
order. Shortly after I placed my order I received a call from them
indicating the problem. Apparently, they were unable to find the diamond I
ordered and the size didn't match the price. After reviewing my order
confirmation, they appeared to be correct. It looked like a computer
malfunction. They fixed the problem immediately and helped me find a
comparable diamond at the same price.
The order arrived promptly and in a box marked "Odimo". This was nice
since I had the package delivered to my work place so she [my fiancé]
wouldn't know...and neither did my extremely nosey coworkers.
The only downside I see is the lack of a long term guarantee. However, I'd
recommend
Diamond.com to anyone. I'd also encourage them not to worry about any
stigma about purchasing a ring online.
